Excellent Image for a Book Cover

September 21, 2016

I saw a photo that would make a great cover for the right book. If anyone knows someone who could use it, iIt is not a professional photo and they were not marketing it. I just thought it looked like a cover, asked his wife for permission and started posting. t would be a nice boost for this wounded vet and his family to see him on a book cover. I found it on A Soldier’s Journey Home FB page. They build homes for wounded vets and Tony will be their 2017 recipient. Anyone can contact his wife from there if they’re interested.

August 12, 2014

Spent all of yesterday and most of today trying to find my way around WordPress. Did not find it to be intuitive or even reasonable easy to navigate with instructions. I can see I will be spending a great deal of time on reading instructions, watching instructional videos, and the good old trial and error approach.

I THINK I got my Profile, my Portfolio and my First Blog entry made, awaiting permission from my authors to give me permission to publish their names, their remarks, and portions of their work. We shall see.

Flawless Fiction Editing by Rose

Hi, my name is Rose, and I’m new to NAIWE and to blogging, but kind of looking forward to it. I just finished an editing job for my sweet friend, Liv Bennet, and am looking forward to one from Maren Smith. Other than editing, I spend my time on an issue very close to my heart now that I only recently discovered. It has to do with American soldiers who have been imprisoned, wounded, or killed due to the restrictive rules of engagement, both in Afghanistan and Iraq. Some rules are necessary for any army, but some of the recent additions to the rules are absurd. Soldiers often must choose between violating the rules and protecting their life and/or the lives of their men. Although the rules of engagement started out as guidelines, the military currently enforces them as laws. In a military court, just as in a civilian court, you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. However currently, the court martial process operates more in a guilty until proven innocent mode. It is true that the military will appoint a JAG attorney to represent the accused at no cost.  However realistically, if the accused wants to be sure of having an attorney who will truly represent him, his best bet at a fair trial is to hire an attorney at his own expense. Even then, it is a David and Goliath story because you have the individual, almost always from a family of limited means,  against the deep pockets of the U.S. government, equipped with a set of rules that greatly tip the scales in the favor of the prosecutor.I hope you will visit our Facebook page called CARE to learn more.  Another excellent source of information is DCXposed.com. United American Patriots has made a video that is a good introduction to the subject. Headed by a retired military officer, it is, as far as I know, the only organization attempting to help these men. I know the man featured in the film, as well as many others caught in this web.Watch the video here: United American Patriots Warriors’ Fund. Thank you for reading my post. Comments are welcome.
